WELLNESS COUNSELING FOR WOMEN

With Sarah Rueven, MS, RDN, CDN

What we do

We empower women to achieve their health goals through evidence-based, proven methods. We believe your health habits should revolve around your lifestyle, not the other way around.

Focus areas

  • General Wellness

Develop strategies to sustain your overall health and well-being.

  • Fertility

Regulate your hormones to optimize fertility and support reproductive health.

  • Prenatal

Get the right nutrients to sustain a healthy pregnancy.

  • Postpartum

Healthy routines that nourish both you and your baby after childbirth.

Founder’s note

I founded Rooted Wellness after I had my first child, because as I experienced first hand, women are not getting the reproductive healthcare that we deserve. I believe that every woman should have access to personalized, evidence-based and holistic wellness support. At Rooted Wellness, we celebrate the uniqueness of each woman and translate nutrition science into actionable guidance. After all, nutrition should revolve around your lifestyle, instead of your lifestyle revolving around your nutrition.

Who we are

Sarah Rueven, MS, RDN, CDN
Founder

Sarah Rueven is a New York City-based Registered Dietitian. She received her undergraduate degree at Brandeis University, where she studied History and Education Studies. Like many of her clients, Sarah struggled with her weight and body image as a young adult. She made the conscious choice to turn things around, and began to educate herself about nutrition and wellness. As Sarah enjoyed the effects of all the healthy changes she was implementing, living a balanced and healthy life developed into a true passion. Having seen “the light”, Sarah wanted to find a way to share it with others.

Sarah is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Greater New York Dietetics Association, the Women's Health Practice Group and the Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group. She is a founding advisory board member of Robyn, a maternal wellness resource.

Sarah lives in lower Manhattan with her husband and their two young kids.

Dana Conley, MS, RDN, CDN
Registered Dietitian

Dana Conley is a New York City based Registered Dietitian. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Global Public Health and Anthropology from New York University. After college, Dana worked in women’s health and advertising where she was tasked with writing blog posts on prenatal and infant nutrition for Maven Clinic and Little Spoon. Nutrition research quickly became the part of her job she looked forward to most.

Dana believes in balanced and sustainable eating patterns that are actually enjoyable for her clients. She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Women's Health Practice Group. In her free time, she enjoys trying new recipes, reading novels, and walking through Central Park with a podcast.

Press

  • Working with Sarah has been a game changer for me. She helped me overcome unhealthy habits with patience, consistency and compassion. She helped me find solutions that actually fit my lifestyle and helped me treat my body with the love and care it deserves. I’m forever grateful.

    — Nicole C, client

  • Sarah has helped me make so many significant changes that have literally changed my life. She gave me the tools and information I was lacking for so long. At times she felt like more than a dietitian… she felt like a friend who was always proud of my choices. When dealing with fertility, you can feel like a lot is out of your control, but getting a hold of my diet and lifestyle, with Sarah’s help, made the journey way more tolerable.

    — Elexis S, client

  • Sarah delivers the most up-to-date and empirically sound evidence and support to expecting and new parents on how to feed themselves and their growing babies. She is an integral part of our team of presenters we trust and invite back to every lecture series.

    — Michelle Kornbleuth, Ph.D, CEO Ready to Parent

  • I came to Sarah after months of trying to lose the rest of my “baby weight” with limited success. Sarah not only helped me achieve my postpartum weight goals, she overhauled my general health. She really listened to my individual needs and concerns and worked with me to create an eating plan that didn’t leave me feeling deprived and hangry! I can’t thank you enough, Sarah, for helping me get my post-baby mojo back!

    — Lauren S, client

  • As an obgyn, I know the importance of good nutrition to support conception, pregnancy and postpartum recovery. When I refer patients to Sarah, I know they are in good hands. She is adept at translating the latest nutrition science into realistic, actionable health guidance that everyone can incorporate into their lives.

    — Catherine Goodstein, MD, Carnegie Hill Ob/Gyn

  • Sarah helped me at a time when I was feeling really down on myself. She is more than a nutritionist - when you have your off days, she’s there for you as a friend, and when you succeed she’s your biggest cheerleader. She’s easy to talk to and so encouraging, and I made huge strides with my overall health after working with her for only a few months.
